Interesting rumors abound in the iPad camp today — Apple has posted a job listing for a Performance QA Engineer for the iPad that would focus on digital camera technology for capturing and playing back pictures and video. This listing lends credence to a second-generation iPad with an integrated webcam. Remember that before its release, the iPad was rumored to include said webcam for video chatting anywhere, but that was a no show on the first generation.
The other rumor involves the device’s compatibility with USB Audio Devices. When talking about the upcoming iPad Camera Connection Kit in a mailing list, Apple engineering manager William Stewart dropped hints that the iPad would indeed work with external sound devices. Like a high-end microphone…for video chatting. Of course, nothing’s been confirmed, but don’t be surprised when it happens.
